Youth development is critical to succession planning in any sport. In an effort to develop and promote the sport of volleyball in Barbados at the youth level and expose the public to the many opportunities available through the sport of volleyball, we at PrepElite246 Volleyball Academy started our Primary School Beginners program in five primary schools during the 2017/ 2018 school year. Through a series of complimentary sessions at both public and private primary schools, we have engaged over 100 students who gained a love and interest for the sport of Volleyball.

In June 2018, one of our adopted schools St. Christopher Primary, was invited to be a part of the Inaugural Primary School Volleyball Invitational Tournament.  Conceptualized by Jodie B. Productions with the assistance of the Barbados Volleyball Association, the one-day rally hosted at the Wildey Gymnansium, saw 4 teams demonstrating their love for the sport. Our young team experienced competition for the first time and showcased their skill-set to earn them the Runners-Up title.

Our after-school program is a beginner volleyball program which covers the basic skills on passing, serving, setting, spiking along with mini-volleyball games. We focus on footwork and body position while incorporating the necessary movement skills needed. Our sessions will run for 1 hour and caters to students ages 6 to 12 years old. We can facilitate groups of up to 15 students per any one session. We provide all equipment required including a net and youth balls, all we require is an open space to facilitate our activities and children who are eager to learn new skills and have fun.
