Run! Duck! Hide! Laser Tag Time!

Week 2 of summer camp 2018 was nothing but EPIC!

Lights, Camera, ACTION!

We were excited to welcome back Aunty Asha for our day of drama as we started to explore the world of communication. We took a closer look at verbal and non-verbal forms of communication on and off the stage. Campers were eager to showcase their improv skills as they shared stories without uttering a word as the other campers looked on trying to read the facial expressions and body language to figure out what they were trying to convey.

Barbados Olympic Museum

Campers of PrepElite246 had the chance to visit the Olympic Museum as a part of the tour activities on Thursday. While at the Museum, they researched and discovered various aspects of the Olympic movement. The tour was led by Ms. Daneka Headley. Following the tour, they engaged with Ms. Sasha Sutherland of the Regional Anti- Doping Organization as they explored the effects of drugs.

At the end of the tour, Ms. Headley challenge the campers to a few questions, to which the winners showcased their speed in a bicycle challenge where campers pedaled for gold, silver or bronze.

Lager Tag

Providing the perfect combination of physical activity and entertainment; Run! Duck! Hide! Laser tag! Campers had the opportunity to work on their team-building skills in order to accomplish a common goal.

During the various laser tag games, campers were encouraged to think and develop various strategies as a group to successfully complete their missions. The mission included saving the president and capturing the flag.

Fun-Day Friday - Pizza!

Reuse, Reduce & Recycle! In keeping with our green stars (tidy & clean stars), in our 'Trash to Treasure' project this week, campers converted old t-shirts into aprons before pizza day. Kids in the kitchen! We headed into the kitchen and got our hands dirty as campers had the opportunity to create their very own pizzas. With recipes as our puzzles, the kitchen can be a fun place for kids to play and learn.

As our campers continue to develop skills in cooperation and communication, they showcased their creative side as they decorated and personalized their pizzas; they added cheese, pepperoni and pineapples, many of which were eaten before being placed on the Pizza. At lunch time the pizza was ready for consumption and it is safe to say with no scraps or crumbs were left...a tasty job well done.
